First off I do congratulate the gutsy Florida Panthers on a magic carpet ride. Florida needed I believe the Penguins to lose there last 2 games and they had to win there final 2 games to get in. The Panthers then only stunned the entire hockey world when they came behind 3-1 against the NHL best regular season team ever the Boston Bruins. The next round they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs in 5 games and then really shocked the Carolina Hurricanes in a stunning sweep. The Panthers should be very proud of there run but they absolutely ran into a machine known as the Vegas Golden Knights. In 2016 the Vegas Knights became an expansion team and they reached the Stanley Cup Final there inaugural season but they lost to the Washington Capitals in 5 games. Vegas missed the playoffs last year but they hired Bruce Cassidy as there head coach he was released by the Bruins in 2022. There goalie Hill was a backup and has turned into a superstar. Vegas really went through everyone in the playoffs as they destroyed a broken down Panthers team that finally ran out of gas. The Conn Smythe trophy winner of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final was Jonathan Marchessault who scored 13 goals and 25 points while recording a point in every game of the final. The 32 Year old had a hat trick in the clincher last night. Marchessault was the first undrafted player to win the Conn Smythe trophy since the great Wayne Gretzky. C Jack Eichel is a phenom who was an original Golden Knight. Congratulations to the 2023 Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golden Knights. The Fans of Vegas will be partying for a long time.
